The cover of my first book Charlie I Am

Witness, wonder, and experience a young boy’s difficult path from childhood into his teen years, and through a convoluted rite of passage into manhood, which is revealed through a troubled, energetic, and passionate character, Seamus. As his path unfolds along his journey, the three elders whom he had always thought were there to hurt him in his dreams were actually watching over his very soul in both his dreaming and waking worlds. As the path prepares him for the journey to spiritual growth and awakening, Seamus realizes that the more he learns, the less he knows and understands, ultimately revealing that the synchronicity of the universe is kind and the love that the source provides is always available in every moment of every day—right here, right now.

April 2011

Well, the calendar says it is finally spring, but here in upstate New York Mother Nature still has a stronghold on the Great Lakes region. At this point I believe Syracuse just had their 4th snowiest winter on record with 174", north of here on the Tug Hill plateau received  a staggering 308", and Lake Tahoe has been getting pounded with massive March storms and some areas have received over 700" of snow for the season!

Even though I had plenty of time to finish my second book, 'Conversations With Charlie' with all those cold, long winter nights, the writing muse have not been quite as kind as they were on my first book 'Charlie I Am'. Needless to say my projected finish date of January 1, 2011, has come and gone and the words still seem elude me. But my journal is always half full and within the last few weeks it now contains the words and chords to my first song 'Gotta Go West'. I started playing the acoustic guitar early last summer and have found it to be another wonderfully creative outlet as well as some of the best therapy I have found.

As I strummed my guitar and the words to 'Gotta Go West' flowed from my soul that evening, I realized that my time here in NY may have come to its own fruition and it may be time to go find my muse. My family is healthy & happy, my heart is overflowing with Love, and my spirit hears the call of the west...
Much Love,
Sean

Gotta’ Go West

Sittin’ here this evenin’ / playin’ my guitar

Ramblin’ thoughts fill my head / I want to jump in my car

Thinkin’ bout’ California / from upon this Orange hill

The sentinel sits before me / as the winter winds grow still

Leavin’ my family / not an easy task

Stayin’ here in question / do I have to ask?

Leavin’ here tomorrow / or maybe tomorrow night

Not sure what to do / not sure what is right

I   Gotta’  Go     West
   It      Calls

As I tune into my heart / how do I turn off this mind?

Forget about tomorrow / leave yesterday behind

Focus on where I stand / surrender to the Now

Meltin’ into this moment / no longer askin’ how

Did I get here / without retracin’ my steps

Revealin’ footprints of a life / lived at many depths

Deep under the oceans / or high in cosmic flight

Weepin’ with the mountains / on another starless night

I   Gotta’  Go     West
It      Calls

Packin’ it up and in again / on a so-called normal life

I had a house, I had a horse / shit I even had me a wife

My wheels are set in motion / changes have been made

Adventure is on the horizon / financial stability the trade

But I fear I hear the Sierra’s /from beyond the Great Divide

Callin’ out to my soul / from a destiny I cannot hide

The Zephyr wind it whispers / of a fate I shall not deny

If I choose not to listen / another day will pass me by

I   Gotta’  Go     West

It      Calls
