JANUARY 2010

Wishing all my family, friends new & old, & those I have yet to meet a Happy & Healthy New Year!!! By listening to stories of the many challenges faced in 2009, I guess many of us are glad to see the old year go... It has been an interesting year for sure and I can earnestly say one I will never forget.

In April I had my first book published, in June I decided to pack up my life in Coastal California and head back to upstate New York to be with my family, on July 4th I was in the 'right place at the right time' and pulled two men out of Lake Ontario, and here it is January of 2010 and I am still in New York, go figure, ha!  I would not trade this time with my family for anything in the world and will never regret the decision I made to return home! I have connected to my roots in some very profound ways and have been given the wings to fly through a little thing called Love...

Through my many books signings, open mic poetry nights, and through the course of daily life, I have truly met some amazing people! It is amazing what the Universe provides us when we are open to the Source of it all. It is as simple as being Here, Now... Simply live with an open heart, an open mind, and find the courage to find some light even on your darkest of nights... Believe in yourself and the power of the human spirit my friend, for you are SO worth it!

SUMMER 2009

Once again I thank you for checking in and seeing what I am up to with my book, poetry, art, adventure, and greeting card ideas.  Hard to believe we are in the middle of July already and I have been back in upstate New York for almost six weeks.  There were 22 days of rain in June here, a bit of a contrast to Northern California, but I wouldn't trade this time with my family for anything! 

As much as I am back to self promote the book and my greeting card business, it is also all about what I am calling 'Tuesday's with Grandpa.'  Unfortunately my grandfathers health is failing and I am back to help my family through this difficult crisis.  Through my journey back east and through a sort of life changing experience I was part of 4th of July weekend, I have further come to understand what is truly important in this world, and it is as simple as one four simple yet very profound word. 
LOVE. 

Love.  Love is all you need. 

With all the hatred and negativity being perpetuated in this world it seems to have gotten lost somewhere. What if we came to realize that Love is not only inside us but also surrounds us. Right Here. Right Now. Is is in a strangers smile, a spiders web, a beautiful Orchid, a fallen tree, and even a stormy sea. Everything we need is inside you, and is inside me... So smile, just cause' you can...

Well, Memorial Day has already come and gone, summer is getting in full swing, and the official release date for my book is just a few days away on the 6th.  But as of today I am most proud and once again extremely humbled to announce that my book Charlie I Am is now available on www.amazon.com & www.barnesandnoble.com.  Thank you all SO much for your interest in my writing, poetry, and art, and as always thanks for checking in!!!  Muchos gracias to all those who are considering purchasing my book or for those who had a chance to read it when it was hot off the presses.  For any of you that have read it and actually liked what I have put out there I would totally appreciate if  you would  consider writing a review on one of the sites listed above.  As Seamus says, "Be intentional in what you wish for."  Because if you put it out there for the world to see it just might come true!!!

The Official Release Date for Charlie I Am is June 6, 2009. My publisher submits marketing information to RR Bowker's Books In Print, Ingram, Baker & Taylor, The Brodart Company, Barnes & Noble.com, Amazon.com and through their printer in the United Kingdom to wholesalers in all main markets in Europe where their books are made available to more than 200 million European readers. Woohoo ;-)

It is with great excitement and joy that I am proud to announce that my first book Charlie I Am has been picked up by a publisher and as of last week is available on their website www.publishamerica.com.  I started this project over three years ago and it has been a dream of mine for nearly 25 years, and over the course of the last four months have worked extensively to get it to this point. 

We should be announcing an official release date of 4 - 6 weeks when it will be available to all book stores, both near and abroad, and of course through various retailers on the internet.  I will announce an official release date when it is confirmed.  After the release date I will begin with a few local book signings and begin the long and arduous task of getting my name and my work out there and see how it is perceived in the readers eye...

Since that project is now finished I have begun compiling my poetry collection which will be called Reflective Water and preparing it for an official submission for publication.  I have also begun working on the sequel to Charlie I Am, for as I said in the book, the path is ultimately preparing us for the grander journey that lies ahead...  With so many curious characters and precarious situations yet to be revealed...

As I have eluded to I have not been putting any large amount of effort into producing any new greeting cards but am maintaining a presence in the local market.  I have however been working on and created a cool bumper sticker that will embrace the philosophy of the book, my poetry, and way of life...  To be released soon...

I hope this update finds you all well as we slide into these exciting, unsettled, and dynamic times.  I once again want to thank all of the supporters of my little greeting card company and poetry site.  As excited as I was with the release of the Christmas cards for 2008, the sales were minimal at best compared to last year as a sign of the financial and economic times.


Many of the stores chose simply not to carry them at all, and a few have removed the racks from their shelves.  I am currently working on a few new projects and ideas and will be keeping the racks at few local stores and surf shops well stocked with my latest cards.  


Seeing as the catalyst for me to start a greeting card company was to share my poetry, I have been reminded many times that the words are what many people love the most about my cards.  So I am most proud and excited to announce that I have just accomplished a life long dream with the completion of my fist manuscript.   I am currently preparing the necessary documentation to submit it for publication and hope to send off a few copies in the very near future!  I will release more information with a brief synopsis and title as the process develops. 


I am also working on a poetry collection called Reflective Water to submit for publication and am trying to narrow down the selections from a lifetime of writings.  In the meantime, I am going to continue to update my website with new poetry, graphics, passages, and photo's, so please continue to check in. 


So thank you all once again for I am truly humbled by your generous positivity and feedback and feel blessed for what the Universe and the Source have provided...  Right Here, Right Now...

HAPPY HOLIDAYS 2008


Well sure is hard to believe Halloween has come and gone, the clocks have been turned back, and there are already numerous isles of Christmas goodies at our local drug stores.  For this holiday season I have created two more silly Surfin' Santa Cards that are sure to please locals and tourists near and far alike!  So as not to spoil the fun I am going to refrain from revealing anymore of the silliness so tune back in for their debut which should be any day now...


The traditional holiday graphic you see above is from a picture I took last fall of a Cross over looking The Monterey Bay.  I am much more spiritual than religious but this image reminded me of a piece of art my Mother created when I was a small child.  If you look closely those three white images are actually three seagulls that were flying passed as I snapped this shot which adds to the symbolism.  It is not currently a card option but I am considering blowing it up to be auctioned as a piece in an upcoming art sale.  What do you think? 

I will be releasing the Cycling Card series in early 09' and have decided to expand the Happy Birthday line into other sports such as skateboarding, kite surfing, snowboarding, and skiing.  I am also working on getting a collection of my poetry together and submitting it for publication.  I have had a few pieces published in the past but would love to see if my words have any merit in the literary world I know so little about.
