The phrase was written long
before it could be fully understood.
Entering a moving parking lot, 
staring blankly down the hood.

My heart sank deeply 
as I gave up yet another dream.
Another day with familiar
feelings far from serene.

I suppose I could conform and adapt
with a shiny new Hybrid SUV.
A slave to the alarm clock
and a triple-shot-non-fat-cafe-latte.

But today I accept to decline
and will truly pave my own way.
